Message from the President: Laurier to face severe operating budget cuts

Last fall a number of townhall meetings were held at Waterloo, Brantford and Kitchener, where the overall financial challenges facing the university were discussed. Since that time suggestions have been forthcoming from people who attended the meetings, the process of compiling information has continued, and deliberations regarding how best to deal with the challenges have been ongoing. The following message from President & Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Max Blouw, provides the most current information available.

Dr. Lee Willingham, Faculty of Music As a specialist in music education and choral studies, Lee Willingham is helping Laurier music students become tomorrow’s great music leaders by actively working on ways to take music out of the university and into local schools. Through the Centre for the Advancement of Music in the Community, Willingham collaborates with regional music teachers and students, and plans are underway for more partnerships between Laurier’s Faculty of Music and the community.
